In Tamazight language, Tamghra Wushen literally means "Wedding of the Wolf". This expression is used in the rare instance that the sky gives way to both sun and rain.
As children of Tamazgha in Northern Africa, we remember that we would expose our backs to the sky by bending over and exposing the skin of our backs. It was believed that the raindrops that touched us on Tamghra Wushen would brings us protection from illness.
Tamghra Wushen is usually followed by Taslit Ounzar, the Tamazight term for "rainbow", which translates as "Bride of the Rain".
This songs on this album represent the marriage of Tamazight traditional music and Western style, connecting the two cultures through melody, rhythm and sonics.
